Zelenskyy Expects To Die For Ukraine
3/1 Updates: Ukrainians continue to stand up to the Russian invasion, including by unarmed civilians blocking tanks and protesting against soldiers. Medvedev, the former Russian prime minster, threatened France with war. Trudeau banned Russian oil, Germany upped military spending to send aid, Taiwan sent aid to Ukraine in defiance of China, and Switzerland supported Ukraine with sanctions, breaking their infamous neutrality. And members of the UN walked out on a speech by Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Russians are allegedly surrendering en masse, but they have also surrounded multiple cities and continued to bomb Kyiv, while Belarussian troops allegedly joined the invasion on Russia’s side. Apple is pausing all sales to Russia. There is alleged hacking of services across the country and a Ukrainian newspaper may have released the personal data of 120,000 Russian soldiers.
I would support a no-fly zone or supplying Ukraine with drones, but allegedly both actions would cause World War III. On the bright side, Zelenskyy continues to be a hero and the EU might accept Ukraine’s membership bid.
