Unfortunately, no one has the time and energy to be perfectly perfect about everything, so deciding what’s more important IS an important conversation to have. I wish the music industry were less biased towards certain types of publicity gimmicks, but this is an unimportant problem right now, so I don’t spend mental bandwidth or conversational space on it.

We can’t all buy fair trade and fight for animal rights and spend every moment fighting for racial justice and work on women’s rights and be doctors and be freedom fighters and be writers and give speeches and etc. etc. etc. all of the time. We have to prioritize. And the fights that feminism is having right now are a priority.
