Three Triangles to Help You Find Your Perfect Career

If you’re looking for a job or have suddenly realized that the career you were in for the past twenty years is no longer enjoyable, you’re not alone. Nearly half of millennials plan to leave their job within two years, according to some studies. So if you’re thinking of moving on, here are three triangles that help make those tough decisions.

Time

In college, this was the “Grades, Sleep, Parties” triangle and most people told me I could only choose two. But it’s necessary to balance all three.

Balance doesn’t mean even, though. A workaholic may prioritize work more. A stay-at-home parent might prioritize personal life more. You can of course choose to prioritize two or even all three, but as you start prioritizing more of these categories, you’ll get less advantages from each. If you’re trying to both work and have a personal life, you’ll have to give up some family time to work and some career opportunities for family.
