This is an incredible comment! Thank you so much for sharing all of this. It has really made me think. I agree we have to continue challenging whiteness and white comfort or things won't change. And honestly, jokes and tossing it back is a great way to do that.

I hope you're right that the sincere people won't be deterred by all this. Some of my most liberal friends have genuinely stopped vocally supporting the cause and I genuinely do think/thought they care? They still donate to BLM and #StopAsianHate, but they don't say things publicly.
