This is a really powerful article making great points. Some of the most racism I've faced has been from East Asians and even other Indians (I'm pretty dark and South Indian, so yeah). In the Bay Area, I never heard anything negative about East Asians from South Asians (although the word "chink" was used to talk about them, and that is a slur, it was always accompanied by neutral or positive statements).
When I moved to D.C., I got told by several East Asians that "brown" isn't a real skin color, that we're half "Black and half white," and we're much dumber than real Asians.
I also heard a lot of South Asians hating on China. (Never all East Asians, but there's a lot of anti-China hate.) And of course in the Muslim community, there's a lot of hatred for China and India. While the hatred of the Chinese and Indian governments are justified given their treatment of Muslims, it's still deeply problematic that it extends to the people.
