That last line is exceptionally powerful, thank you for sharing. Many, many POC (pretty much everyone I know) are uncomfortable with some positions about cultural appropriation and silencing discourse, even though we are so happy we’re finally talking about racism at all. I’ll never forget when a bunch of white people were discussing how we “should” act about minority cultures, when every minority person in the room was disagreeing. They were so convinced they knew better on how to protect us.
