There was also a bit of this in Black Panther, where, despite the fact it was of course awesome and lauded for long over-due diversity, some of my Black friends felt that it was insulting to summarize all of the diverse countries in Africa into one mixed culture. Plus, there was that line about Hanuman and monkey gods, which comes from Hinduism, not African culture, and it seems pretty insulting to both parties that they chose a monkey god for the mountain tribe to worship.
