My coauthors and I publish books under a penname--our dog's name--but you can figure out pretty easily who's behind it. And of course, on Medium and everywhere else, it's my real name.

For me, I'd love to have a penname and I do have elements of my life that I'm completely anonymous about online, but if I show my face, I'm pretty recognizable. There are some upsides to having a unique face, but this is definitely one of the downsides. I've tried to do videos and keep my anonmyity but it's really, really hard.

Basically, I'm so glad Zulie has her online presence and that nuke option. I suppose for me I'd have to rely on real life name changes or plastic surgery...sigh.
