I've been sexually harassed and groped. I've been followed and stalked online. I didn't believe or disbelieve Amber Heard in 2016, although I now think she is clearly the emotional and physical abuser in the relationship. (And a narcissistic liar.)
I don't agree with relying on statistics to say that men are more likely to be abusers, so we should believe all women. What?
That is SUCH a white feminism viewpoint. I've spent years fighting for criminal justice reform and there is a very important reason it's innocent until proven guilty, not guilty until proven innocent. White women claim Black men assault or harass them, lying and getting away with it. Innocent people go to prison.
And if we really care about statistics, far more men than women get raped in America (and more often)--at least according to people like me who are trying very hard to get an accurate number.
Rich white women just ignore that statistic because the majority of male rape happens in prison.
(And yes, men are much more likely to be the abuser, but that doesn't mean we should assume any individual man is without proof.)
