I really feel this article, because I've definitely seen anti-Blackness in the Asian community myself.

But two things made me uncomfortable: "Black organizers had to work to bring issues of anti-Blackness to the forefront." = Yes, but it is not their responsibility to, nor Asians' responsibility to fight against their own discrimination. Really, it's the responsibility of ALL of us to fight discrimination anywhere. And everyone should call out "woke" white people for supporting causes that allow them to seem woke (like putting hashtag BLM) without actually doing anything about anything. (I agree, don't make it about Asians vs. Blacks though.)

And second, it feels like this article may perpetuate stereotypes that Asians don't support BLM or pro-Black movements (just look at the comments). In my experience, many Asians are not selfish and do in fact fight very hard for Black rights. Honestly, I've never worked in anti-Asian discrimination myself, but I've spent a long, long time supporting BLM, specifically fighting for criminal justice reform.

I'm Indian and honestly even within the Asian community it can sometimes seem like there's a divide between South and East Asians. (For example, I'm Tamilian and my community is very dark-skinned. So there's a whole set of racism that we face lighter-skinned Asians don't.) Point is colorism sucks. Racism sucks. I agree we should focus on fixing the problem and not attacking each other.
