I haven't really read pieces like this before, so if I was unintentionally contributing to a toxic culture, I definitely didn't know when publishing it. You'll see that I've responded to every single inappropriate white commenter, calling them out for false equivalency, something I also say at the beginning of my article. I hope you also noticed many, many minorites agree with me.

But I will say, honestly, that when I am clearly making a good faith effort to listen to responses (I even started this article saying I might change my mind in a few months), no one is going to be swayed by the people screaming at me for being so anti-white or the people like you just saying it's an awful piece without backing it up.

I agree that Chelsea's responses have been written very well in general and I appreciate the time taken to debate me. But I genuinely don't know why you think pieces like this existing are maddening. We all try to make sense of the world and, again, I'm not the enemy. This debate will educate a lot of people and continue conversations. Would you rather we have no conversations about this? Would you rather I just think these things and never talk about them with other people? Turning on other minorities when they fail cultural purity tests--especially when many of us have been taught to believe a lot of the anti-minority things we believe by white people--is really problematic.
