I feel like this title is a bit clickbaity. I thought you were actually fine with it and this was a piece about open relationships, which there is nothing wrong with. (For example, if his girlfriend knew about it and was okay with it. It seems like he didn't lie to you--no strings attached = no strings attached.)

It's a well-written piece. :) I was just expecting something different.
