I entirely agree. That’s what I was realizing too. There are problematic parts of most fictional ships because people are always exaggerated in fiction.

And you’re totally right, he’s 12. He probably didn’t get it. I just found it unromantic and am probably projecting the rest.

I do find it interesting that I saw research showing Zutara is a much more popular ship, especially among adults,and Kataang among original viewers/children. (Though I think Zutara still comes out ahead…?) It might have something to do with the times changing, like with the post-pandemic viewers.
