I agree not all straight people are like this. But it’s actually not the same thing as saying the same things about gay people. Criticizing a minority that has long faced discrimination because of falsehoods about being worse at parenting is not the same as criticizing a privileged majority by pointing out research-backed facts. (No one has ever denied straight people the right to adopt because of assertions about their parenting, for example.)

But I don’t think it’s genetically the case that gay/queer people are better at this; I personally think it’s the cultural differences. Queer subculture is very much about different parenting techniques, etc.

When I say “act less straight,” it’s that “straight culture” at the moment means some things I don’t think are very helpful. I’m sure if some of these “queer” things become mainstream, they will be seen as straight ideas too. Assimilation is cool and I’m generally for it.
