Great point. She's left out a lot of things, really. This piece is borderline fiction in how far from reality it actually is. That is not in fact how the economy works at all. And this is far more a story of irrational behavior and nuclear weapons (realism) than economics (liberalism) anyway.

I, unlike her, have actually spent years studying these things and would still consider myself far from an expert.
